My Jam-a-Lam

3 Jul

So…it won’t come as a surprise to anyone that anything by Mick Jagger didn’t make it onto the list of songs that inspire me. I don’t know about inspiring, inspiring songs are typically slow and lame, but these are songs I listen to pump myself up.

Killer Queen-Queen

Queen can do no wrong in my book. God wishes he had Freddie Mercury’s voice. Don’t believe me? Go, listen to the acapella version. You back? I know, I was SO right, it doesn’t get old.

This Is How We Do It- Montell Jordon

“You gotta get your groove on, before you go get paid.” I got my groove on while I was getting paid. My friend Joanna and would sing this while getting drinks for our tables.

I’m the Greatest Star- Streisand (from ‘Funny Girl’)

Yea, that’s right, I get pumped listening to some Streisand. What now? I bump this sick jam whenever I’m not feeling baller enough to write my script. You’re my homie B.S.!

Big Shot-Billy Joel

An awesome song to blast if someone pisses you the hell off . And since I know all the words, you could say this happens to me frequently!

If This Is It- Huey Lewis & The News

Honestly, I just love Huey Lewis, he was a cutie and always made funny videos. Plus he was in ‘Back to the Future.’ I ‘ll go ahead and say that his creative videos inspire me.

The Victim- SoloBob

“Bob” is from the band Rooney, that I’ve loved since high school. Even my Mom has been to a Rooney concert and shames all the young people at her work with her knowledge of this band. It’s a fun, poppy song that normally gets me ready for the gym.

P.S. I’ve seen Huey and Billy in concert, and I would have paid huge dollars to see Queen, but it’s safe to say that I won’t be seeing a Rooney concert. . .ever.
